Phonics is such an important part of the day in our classroom. It forms the basis of all our reading and writing. The p1s are starting to make words with all the sounds they now know. When we put s a t together we get sat. When we put s i t together we get sit. This is called blending sounds and is key to early reading skills.
In p3 blending is still an important tool to help with reading.
